Driver Support

Drivers with Tempus Transport are never alone! Through regular communication with Tempus Transport staff, you will be given the support you need to develop the skills necessary to be a successful expedite driver. We are always involved with load selection, and not only are we able to aid you in trip planning and paperwork completion, but we are also available 24 hours a day to assist with any issues you may have along the way.

Home Time

One of the keys to success in the expedite industry is maximizing the time you're available for loads.  Our most successful drivers are able to stay out for 6-8 weeks, and then take a week of home time.

Elite Driver Program

We are proud to offer an Elite Driver Program to our senior drivers with a minimum of one year on Team Tempus. Upon qualifying, this program includes bonus pay, in addition to driver base pay.

Application Process

Applicants must have a valid Class A or B CDL and be willing and able to stay out for a minimum of 2 weeks.  You can begin the application process by completing the questionnaire on our Pre-Qualify page.  If you meet our basic requirements, you will be contacted by a Tempus Transport recruiter.

Get to Know Us

Your first 90 days with Tempus Transport are considered your probation period. It's a time for you, the driver, to get to know us, our policies, and procedures. New drivers have the opportunity to see how they like life on the road and to become acclimated to team driving.

During that time, we will monitor your progress on five measures of success:

1. On-time performance:

On time pickup and delivery is essential to expedite freight. It's the driver's job to make that happen. Successful drivers trip plan to arrive at least one hour before appointment time.

2. Fuel economy:

Speed, driving style, and route planning all affect fuel economy. We want you to make money, not the oil company. Successful drivers maintain optimum fuel economy for their truck.

3. Communication:

Drivers are the eyes and ears of the trucking industry. We rely on you to relay what's happening on the ground. Successful drivers stay in touch with Tempus Transport dispatchers to avoid potential problems.

4. Paperwork:

Bills of Lading, proofs of delivery, and fuel receipts can be submitted with a smart phone using the Panther app. Successful drivers scan their paperwork before they even leave the consignee.

5. Equipment:

Proper care of your truck is essential to your success as a driver. Drivers are required to perform thorough pre trip and post trip inspections of their vehicles every day. Any issues should be reported to Tempus Transport immediately. Successful drivers take pride in their truck.
