A note on internet reviews (podcast)

Most of our drivers are the cream of the crop in the expedite industry, but it’s come to our attention that we’ve garnered some negative reviews on the internet. Click the play button to listen to this podcast.

We ask every Tempus Transport driver to sign a driver agreement prior to coming to orientation. The agreement spells out what is expected of each party in terms of performance, rates of pay, and how disputes will be resolved. Most of our drivers understand that following the rules of the agreement is paramount to both their success and the success of the company. However, every now and then we fail to weed out a rotten egg who ends up trashing a piece of company equipment, failing to make an on-time delivery, or abandoning a truck half-way across the country.  All of these actions cost us big money. When we attempt to hold the driver accountable for his actions he often gets angry and tries to warn his fellow drivers against the evil that is Tempus Transport.

There are two sides to every story and companies are often left without a voice on review sites. If you’re considering driving for Tempus Transport and are apprehensive because you’ve read bad reviews about us, please give us a call to find out what we’re really about. If you like, you can talk to one of our many successful drivers who are here to work hard and earn big.

  1. Unfortunately most people writing a review are doing it to write a bad one. If people are happy with whatever service they don’t bother to say so. Our 2 year experience with Tempus Transport has been good. I’m not saying there haven’t been bumps in the road, it is a growing company. Bumps are to be expected. My biggest complaint would have been the pay issues, which, as of now, have been resolved. Another issue is, drivers don’t get to pick their own loads. When negotiating for a load, you have to get as much extra if you can, extra on deadhead, layover if applicable, tolls…ECT. If you do not put the extra effort for the company, Tempus Transport, you will not be trusted to make your own negotiations or pick your own loads. The more effort you put into making extra money for the company, eventually comes back to you, even if you don’t see it right away. Another complaint I have seen is hopping from truck to truck and partner to partner. As for the partner to partner, it takes time to find two people that work well together or even live together. Two people who do not get along make for a volatile working and living environment. The best advice I can give is to start this job with an established partner, ie… Good friend, wife, husband… ECT. As far bouncing from truck to truck, even the best maintained fleet still has breakdowns. Tempus Transport’s job is to keep the money moving for themselves and for YOU. Sometimes this means if they have a truck available, you will be put in that other truck to keep you moving and earning. This should be seen as a good thing.

  3. Reminds me of being a landlord. You have to deal with potentially lousy tenants after they don’t pay, and you have to evict them and then have to pay for the cleaning up of your property. One of the main reasons I never embarked on such a venture.
