Swaps
A swap happens when freight must be transferred from one truck to another due to driver HOS issues, border crossing issues, or truck breakdown.
When you pick up a swap from another truck:
- Sign the other driver’s pro bill on the received-by line.
- Write the word “swap” in the upper-left corner of your pro bill.
- Collect the BOL from the other driver. Allow them the opportunity to capture an image of it for their paperwork.
- Run the load as you normally would.
When you deliver a swap to another truck:
- Have the receiving driver sign your pro bill on the received-by line.
- Write the word “swap” in the upper-left corner of your pro bill.
- Capture an image of the BOL before giving it to the receiving driver, either by saving a picture that you attach later, or by scanning via Transflo. You must submit the BOL with the pro bill.
Submitting paperwork for a swap without a BOL may result in a delay of your pay. Click here to view a video that shows exactly how to complete your pro bill for a swap.
