Vehicle Inspections

Pre-Trip
We require each driver to make one vehicle inspection per day. Each driver must perform a thorough pre-trip inspection prior to beginning his or her shift. Driver must be “on duty, not driving,” while performing the pre-trip inspection.

Post-Trip
We require each driver to make one post-trip inspection per day. One DVIR (daily vehicle inspection report) must be completed on the QC per day.

Each time you stop the truck throughout your shift, even for a short stop, be sure to do a quick walk-around inspection. You want to check your tires, hoses, and brakes. Make sure the rear doors are secured, and check for any signs of vandalism or problems with load securement.
