Empty Moves
An empty move is an investment Tempus Transport makes in a driver/team to increase load opportunity based on location.
There are 2 types of Empty Moves:
Panther EM: A Panther empty move means that Panther has agreed to reimburse Tempus Transport a nominal rate per mile to move a truck to another location where they need capacity.
Tempus EM: A Tempus empty move is when Tempus Transport has decided that a truck needs to move to an alternative location in order to increase the likelihood of getting a better load.
Drivers will be paid their rate on BOTH types of empty moves, provided they do the following:
Panther EM:
- Get approval from Tempus Transport*
- Accept EM on QC
- Move on the EM within 30 minutes of Tempus Transport approval
- Enter EM # on next pro bill*
Tempus EM:
- Get approval from Tempus Transport*
- Move on the EM within 30 minutes of Tempus Transport approval
- Send an email to dispatch@temptran.com; include date of EM and start/end city and state.
Empty Moves are "cut off" at the point you are offered your next load. Empty moves pay with the pro on which they are submitted. On a Panther EM, drivers will be paid based on the miles Panther pays.
*Unauthorized miles will not be paid. Empty moves that are not properly documented will not be paid to drivers.
